Carol-oke with Glee! TJ Maxx & Marshalls

Toys for Tots, TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Corey Monteith, Mark Salling, Amber Riley and Bryant Park=Carol-OKE!
Yep 3 cast members of Glee and then also joining in were Nikki Blonsky and Kimberley Locke.

Carol-oke is a contest being run by Marshalls & TJ Maxx. You can still play along! All you have to do is go to Marshalls and T.J. Maxx’s holiday YouTube channel, www.youtube.com/jointhecarolers, watch one of the two unique carols, then upload a video of you singing one of them! For each video $1 will be donated toward Toys for Tots, to purchase gifts for a child in need. If that’s not enough incentive, by uploading a video you are also eligible to win a $5,000 shopping spree. Tis the season to do something charitable!

I was lucky enough to be sent there by TJ Maxx and Marshalls.  It was so much fun.  Corey Monteith is a HAM!  Hamming it up all day on the stage.  Amber is about the sweetest.  I told her I think she is prettier in person, and she told me, “If i was white you would see me blushing but… I am black.”

and then I told Mark Salling that I fell in love with him that day.  His reponse, “just today?” followed by these cheesed out photo.

I would have been in love with Corey, but he was definitely the talker out of all of them.  I talk a lot, and that wouldn’t work out.  =)  There is a couple more pics of me floating around by the other gals that were also there, but I haven’t gotten them.  And I have a few more to share of some of the gals I met there.

We had a lot of time to lust after the boys while waiting in the media line.

Big City Mama

Indianapolis may seem like a big city to some of you. And not city intimidates me, except for New York.  I am horrible with understanding accents, good with directions but only if i am driving.  YIKES!

So yes, I am going to NYC tomorrow!  I am going for TJ Maxx’s Red Carpet Event for the Holidays.  I really couldn’t be any more excited.  Probably driving people on Facebook crazy with updates.

I can drive to Chicago alone, no problem.  Atlanta? No problem.  L.A. No problem.  NYC?  EEEEK.  subways.  what do I do?  hah!

I remember the first time I took the “L” in Chicago I was a little nervous but not too bad and it turned out ok.  I always seem to travel to places alone which is fine, but New York? I requested a chaperone but they thought I was kidding.  I did too at first. Now I am looking up directions and I am wondering how I can make sure I get off at the right stop.  I mean heck, i am not paying more then $2 to get to the city since I don’t have to!

But alas, my whole point of this post wasn’t to express my anxiety, but to tell you I will be gone for two days!  I do have some posts scheduled, so no one should go through withdraw or anything.  =)

And i will pick a batch of winners as soon as I get back, either Friday or Saturday.

Be prepared for lots of pictures, stories and maybe even video!  I wish I could bring each of you back something!

OH, and wish me luck at just packing a backpack….and only taking my Hip Bag.  (ya know the hip bag Fiona from Burn Notice wears?)  God I love it!    Not even checking a bag.  As hard as that is since most of my items don’t have sample sizes, I am bound and determined to make it work!

TJ Maxx and Marshalls LIVE GIVEAWAY!

Yep.  I picked THREE winners and neither got back with me.  So it is time to do a live giveaway!

I picked one winner a week ago, another mid week last week and then finally the last the day I picked all the other winners, and apparently they aren’t interested!

TJ Maxx and Marshalls, Review and Giveaway

I can’t even begin to tell you how much fun I had at TJ Maxx a couple weeks ago.  I went in, with my $25 gift card in hand, and told myself the only way I would go over that, is for $5 or a winter coat.  Notice the OR?  Not both.

I walked out with a new winter coat, a sweet Marmot Fleece, a perfect brown sweater and hand weights.  Thanks goodness I am a green beauty blogger, or I would have spent so much more on the skincare section.

And thank goodness secondly, that I have already agreed to a handbag review, so I only glanced at them.  And yes, i do mean, that I only glanced. I was scared to look!

Let me show you some of my finds!  I was snapping pictures left and right!

This sweater is really soft, and comfy. I always buy a sweater in this color to top any outfit that needs a warm up! I wear them out too! Notice is usually retails for at least $70. At Tj’s for only $34.99

And honestly, this picture doesn’t do it justice, but my camera is at a friends house today, so no additional shots.

and I also spotted this Anne Klein Sweater.  How pretty is it?  I didn’t buy this, but wanted to prove they have hot brands!

And this awesome Columbia coat.  I wanted it… but I put it back.  It appeared they had one in every size too.  Only $49.99, I know these go for about $200.  (kicking myself for not getting it!)

I don’t think you can tell from this photo, but this coat is really snazzy. It is quilted, but not too thick and “fluffy.” I have to buy coats that will not attract dog hair, and I fell in love with this one. for $39! Again, this photo really does not do it justice, it is dressier then it appears.  I saw plenty of Anne Klein, Nine West, Roxy and more.

And then I also got a half zip Marmot Pull Over Fleece.  It is a purple burgundy, and I love it.  Already wore it!

They had so much skin care too!  I was falling on myself.  Organic and natural!  Plus yoga mats, and just about any accessory you could want for exercise.  I didn’t even attempt housewares.  Our house is full!

If you are on a budget (who isn’t?) go get some of the gift sets for skin care, or fragrance for Christmas!

DDF, Borba, Organix, L’Oreal all top price products that they carry for such low prices!  hello Origins!

The harder I tried to make it to the Marshalls near me, the more it seemed like I wasn’t supposed to!  one day was a bad accident near the store, sat in traffic for an hour.  Then the next time, an truck carrying propane hit a bridge and well, blew up.  TJ Maxx is down the street, but Marshalls is about 30-45 minutes away, depending on which one.  But my plan is to make it there this week and look for some boots.
