EcoBabyBuys Giveaway
EcoBabyBuys is a new retail concept for moms and dads wanting to keep babies green, but who are not always able to afford the latest and greatest eco-friendly baby finds.
You will see items marked down from 40-60% off retail price! They had one principle in mind when starting this discount site, to discover manufacturers that offered non-toxic, eco-friendly and fairly traded products. As urban mothers, they thought a little bit of style wouldn’t hurt either.
This site is still a little different. You get one deal, per day, announced at 9AM EST, and once it is gone, it is GONE! So be quick, and get them while you can!
All products featured on EcoBabyBuys.com meet the following criteria:
· the use of non-toxic materials and dyes;
· the use of organic and/or recycled textiles and materials;
· the use of eco-friendly packaging;
· and a commitment and adherence to the standards of fair-trade.
Here are a few items that have been seen on EcoBabyBuys in the last couple weeks:
Kee-Ka Long Sleeve Tee – Regular retail price: $25.00. Our price: $12.50 – 50% off

Celery Street Review and Giveaway
You may remember one of my very first giveaways, was for an Indianapolis, based Eco-friendly store named, Celery Street.
Well we are back, giving you more eco-goodness! Celery Street isn’t just an e-commerce site, they also have a brick and mortar, near Indianapolis. I am ashamed to admit I have yet to make it there. The carry a little of everything that would be considered Eco-friendly products. Recycled wrapper bags, kitchen utensils, serving trays, candles, decor, writing journals, handcrafted jewelry, items for pets and the list goes on!
While trying to decided what to bring you today for a review and giveaway from Celery Street, I wanted to bring your something warm and fuzzy. Something I could see us all doing curled up next to a fire.
So what better then a Handmade Blue Embroidered Jot A Thought Writing Journal. Fall and winter take us from our favorite outdoor activities so it is the perfect time to catch up on creating and writing down our dreams, and thoughts. And the cutest little journal to do it in, makes it that much more self indulgent.
I received mine just in time to start tracking my SoCal Cleanse Journey. What it is about having a beautiful journal, makes me write in it more? It is really the simple beauty? Of course I also love the silky texture, and know that it is handmade. All the paper used, is made by hand from recycled cotton, making it 100% tree free.
The next item is one that I have been eyeballing for the longest. A Sonoma Lavender Recycled Cotton Spa Neck Pillow. I have had neck issues for so long I am not sure when they started, but this little baby, is able to help me relax a little, and sometimes catch the knots before that get too bad. Of course the scent is wonderful, but the pillow is also filled perfectly. Sits perfectly on my neck and shoulders with just enough weight to feel awesome.
The material in the outside is recycled cotton (as is the inside) and feels nice and warm and fuzzy. Just the best texture.
This baby is on sale too! Down from $36 to only $19!
And of course, The fine couple that run the show at Celery Street want to offer the same items I reviewed, as a giveaway for you! You will win the Sonoma Spa Pillow and the Handmade Embroidered journal!
To enter, visit Celery Street and pick out something unique you would love to have given to YOU as GIFT!

Green is Black Review and Giveaway

I don’t know too many women who don’t appreciate a nice blouse, pair of pants, or even a nice comfy tee shirt. But wouldn’t your comfort level for wearing these items be dramatically increased if you knew for certain that they were safe, made ethically and made with sustainable materials?
My answer is yes, and since you are visiting my site, I tend to think that be might your answer too! After all, you wouldn’t put clothing on your baby that had recently been sprayed with pesticides, so is there really any difference if the clothing’s material was grown with pesticides? i think not.
Green Is Black is a wonderful new company out of Canada. Green is Black is a family and friend venture, by people who realize that recycling really is the last resort, that reducing is the first option, then reusing comes next. They have spent their lives (even before green is black) attempting to achieve zero footprint, by dwelling in cities and using their bodies, bicycles, and trains to get around; eating organic and locally-grown food wherever possible; being herbivorous and thus eating as low on the food chain as possible. And maybe one of the most important, and hardest to rule to follow, making new purchases only when they can confidently acknowledge their purchasing is to support a responsible company producing low impact goods.
The one purchase that always seemed to elude them, was funky, fresh, sexy and stylish clothing, that was eco, and sustainable. No one wants to wear brown for the rest of their lives! I love my birkenstocks, but there are times, when style, comfort and sustainability can meet, and work!
The folks at Green is Black didn’t want to be guilt-laden, self-righteous, cranky beings, so they started looking for solutions. The shift to solutions-oriented thinking brought about a tidal wave of information about designers who were acknowledging their need to create art, and stopping at nothing to ensure that their creations be made in an ethical manner – in field, fabric, dye, and manufacturer.
Green is Black refuses to stop with having a near zero footprint, they want to get other companies on board with positive marketing, and help them realize being green doesn’t mean a company has to be in the red when it comes to bookkeeping. Rather, if everyone pulls together, this should be the normal way of life. Not a struggle.
I actually saw Green is Black on a fellow bloggers site, Feisty Frugal and Fabulous. She happens to be a Canadian blogger, and learned about Green is Black that way. Well, I had to contact them, as I just loved what they company stood for, and also loved the stylish, and yet sustainable, not brown clothing they brought to the table!
I chose to review this adorable Jumper by Lav & Kush. It might be more adorable in person than in this photo, but the photo is perfectly accurate. The only thing that might not be accurate is that it is a true black. BUT what I love about Green is Black is that they actually state that in the description. No misleading! Linen Rayon blend, and it is soft, and precious and I think we can all appreciate that it was manufactured in Vancouver, Canada! I love that I can wear this without a bra, as it is a great, tightly stitches material, but yet is light and would be great for summer, or spring.
Green is Black has both Women’s and Men’s clothing options, and has a fantastic Sale page. Plus Shoes and Accessories!
And of course, Green is Black wants to let you try out some stylish, sustainable clothing too! The shirt above is up for a giveaway! You choose the size! made from 65% Hemp and 35% Silk. Although it looks 100% silk to me! Made my Kelly B, and in the USA. This shirt had been $145, and is now marked down to $72.50.
To enter, please go to Green is Black, and pick out another item you would like to try out. Simple!
