So as I am sitting here this morning drinking a cup of coffee, and putting my Chai Smoothie in as my cream, I realized I have to share this company with you.

You may remember me telling you about the Vanilla Chai Purely Protein is my Thirsty Thursday Chai Martini recipe, but I really didn’t tell you all the goodness it contains!

Harvest

First let me give you a little background on Bolthouse Farms!  It has been around since 1915! and is a 4 generation farm.  They have supplied carrots to Campbells, Gerber and many other big names for nearly a century!  In 1959 Bolthouse made a new farm in Bakersfield, CA so he could supply American’s with fresh carrots year round!

In 2003 Bolthouse created a new Bolthouse Beverages.  Each batch of Bolthouse Juices and smoothies are taste tested and bottled in patented clean bottling facilities to ensure freshness, and safety.  This all provides extra long lasting juice, with added nutritional value and superior taste!

You probably eat their carrots every time you eat a carrot.  or have a salad at a restaurant, as they are one of the world’s largest suppliers of carrots. (my dogs love them for this!  ;-) ! )

Bolthouse carries fresh carrots, cut carrots, smoothies, juices and even many salad dressings!

I personally love their drinks.  I know we have had several of their salad dressings and of course purchased their precut carrots many times.  Those are our dogs treats.  =)  They recently launched their Yogurt based Salad Dressings, naturally low in fat!

My favorite smoothie?  Green Goodness. This has a large phytonutrient content. It tastes most like apple juice and banana to me, and don’t worry, you don’t taste any veggies, or really anything else for that matter. Sweet and creamy, and plain ol deliciousness!

* Ingredients: Apple juice from concentrate (Apple juice concentrate, Water), Pineapple juice from concentrate (Pineapple juice concentrate, Water), Mango puree from concentrate (Mango puree concentrate, Water), Banana Strawberry Banana 32 ozpuree, Kiwi juice, Natural flavor, Spirulina, Vitamin C (Ascorbic acid), lime juice, Broccoli, Green tea, Spinach, Barley grass, Wheat grass, Odorless garlic, Tamarind puree, Lemon Juice, Jerusalem artichoke.

Amazing Mango is rich in antioxidants, including selenium.
Blue Goodness is rich in antioxidants, fiber, vitamin C and E, and several B vitamins.
Berry Boost is a fruit-filled, vitamin-rich smoothie.
C-Boost is rich in a vitamin-C-rich blend.
and yummy Strawberry Banana.

I have found a great way to cream my coffee in the morning too! Not to mention spike a great martini! Vanilla Chai! It is packed with soy protein, so if I drink a little of it, and have some fruit in the morning, my breakfast has been made! Plus it is full of Vitamins C, B and E, and also contains folic acid and many amino acids as well.

Vanilla Chai 32 oz

They have a Hazel Nut Purely Protein as well as a Mocha Cappuccino. I am def going to try the Hazlenut this fall/winter!

Not to mention their pure juices and lemonades!

They have also recently added a line of Acai juices called Bom Dia. These açaí drinks are distributed 340 mL bottles, which contain two servings of fruit. These bottles have a chart of the relative levels of antioxidants in several fruit, depicting açaí as having 472 ORAC units per gram of edible fruit, the second highest shown being cranberry, at 95. I am sure some of you have heard the benefits of Acai and how much it can help in dieting and in every other nutritional capacity?

This is an excerpt taken from WebMd.
Are there known health benefits of acai berries?

Some studies show that acai fruit pulp has a very high antioxidant capacity with even more antioxidant content than cranberry, raspberry, blackberry, strawberry, or blueberry. Studies are ongoing, though, and the jury is still out.

People eat acai berries to address various health conditions. But so far, acai berries have no known health benefit that’s any different than that of other similar fruits.
Can acai berries boost weight loss?

Scientists are learning more about the functional power of superfoods, such as the acai berry. Although acai is touted in some weight loss products, few studies have tested the benefit of acai in promoting weight loss.

For now, plenty of research supports eating a diet rich in antioxidants. There’s no doubt that berries and other fruits are a key part of any healthy diet promoting weight loss. The jury’s still out on whether there is something special about acai’s ability to shed excess pounds.

Some cosmetics and beauty products contain acai oil in the ingredient list. That’s because acai oil is a powerhouse of antioxidants.

Studies show that acai oil may be a safe alternative to other tropical oils used in beauty products such as facial and body creams, anti-aging skin therapies, shampoos and conditioners, and other products. When acai oil is processed and stored long-term, the antioxidant levels remain high.

Bolthouse beverages, salad dressings and veggies are all sold in the produce section of most grocers.  Look for the beverages in a cold section.

My only compaint?  their website…. augh, first I am not a fan of flash websites, but this website made my whole computer drag.
