The Yolk’s on You, IHOP

IHOP still only uses eggs from hens confined in cages so small they can’t even spread their wings. But thousands have urged the restaurant chain to start using eggs from cage-free hens.

Now comedian Bill Maher has added his voice to the campaign. Watch his message to IHOP, then please make a brief, polite phone call to IHOP letting them know you want them to start switching to cage-free eggs: 1-866-444-5144.

Please call even if you’ve taken action in the past. And if you get a busy signal, please try again when you can. Thank you for all you do for animals.

Visit the Shelter Pet Project
October 12, 2009

Over the last few weeks, tens of thousands of animal lovers have signed our Adoption Pledge, and thousands more have searched for their next pet through the new Shelter Pet Project website

Shelter pets are all over the media, and for good reason: There are millions of them waiting in shelters for new homes right now. Today I wanted to write you one last time and invite you to join the movement to find new homes for shelter pets. Here are two things you can do, if you haven’t already:

Find your next pet Visit

Meet Your Next Pet

Have you seen the new TV ads that show why pets end up at animal shelters through no fault of their own? If not, visit The Shelter Pet Project website and check out these humorous PSAs for yourself! While you’re there, you can browse the Pet Personals to find shelter pets available for adoption in your area.

The Shelter Pet Project is a joint effort by The Humane Society of the United States, Maddie’s Fund, and the Ad Council, in partnership with the entire animal welfare community.
