NOVICA. The World is Your Market.

I am so happy to have found this company. When you go to their website, you will know just what I mean. They have thousands upon thousands of unique gifts, green gifts and even fair trade corporate gifts. Never again can you say, “I don’t know what to get him!” I have a couple family members (ahem, MEN!) that have always been impossible to buy for.  When they want or need something they just go get it.  Well now I can run to NOVICA and know that I am getting them something truly unique, and that my money went towards paying a man or woman a fair wage, and showed them someone does value their hard work.

I was able to spend a little money (gift card!) at NOVICA, sponsored by them too of course!  And I was so thrilled with what I was able to get!  First, I found this beautiful Sangria Pitcher.  It is hand made blown glass, and see that little divet in the middle?  that is where you put ice, to keep your drinks cold, but not watered down.  I love it!  I can’t wait to have more people over so I can show it off!  Perfect for tea, lemonade, or Sangria!

I was also able to get this beautful Cedar Chest, aptly called Elegance!  Just perfect for stowing away my beautiful jewelry, my Holly Yashi Jewelry just looks perfect in there!  Well, I admit, it does look better on though!  It is truly a work of great craftsmanship.  No nook left untouched.  The paint is healthy and looks marvelous!  Antonio Rojas crafts the piece by hand, carefully painting its red and golden motifs. Wrought iron pulls and an antique finish complete the jewelry box.

I also received this beautiful Tiger’s Eye Cocktail ring, named Paradise.  isn’t she a beauty?  (not in my steve irwin voice!)  The flower looks so delicate, but yet is was made so well, it will hold up for a long time!

And one more beautiful item, that I know will be getting a lot of my attention come fall, Women’s hemp and cotton pants, ‘Leisurely Green.’  This are so comfy!  and they are actually warm too!  I was afraid they might be a little itchy as some hemp clothing is, but the cotton balances that out just right.  These are actually nice enough, that if I grab them out of the dryer just right, and keep the wrinkles at bay, i can wear them out! Now mind you they are still casual, I won’t be night clubbing in them, but they would be great for dinner.

You want to know the true kicker here?  I received all of this for $150!  I paid a few bucks in extra shipping, but really!  $150!  Nice huh?

Novica has some really great search options too, you can search by dollar amount, or my gift category, my him or her, and so much more.  It truly makes gift giving a breeze and a pleasure!

So remember when you are shopping for birthdays, your co-workers, your boss, your employees, kids, Christmas, graduations, etc.  You have Novica for all your fair trade gifts!

Thirtsy Thursday! First up, Sangria!

Hey all! I am going to try and start posting a new edition here at Prissy Green. Drinks! Some with Alcohol and some with out. Please feel free to share you own in the comments! OR if you have an idea for a new Thirsty Thursday drink selection email me! prissygreen at gmail.com
Craig and I went to a local art and music festival a few weeks ago, and we discovered this really ecletic restaurant called the Creation Cafe. They have a fantastic menu, and glorious Sangria.

I have found some great sites that have drink options and Sangria recipes.

I want to share a couple that we have tried recently. Although there are recipes, they are more like open recipes, if you are missing a particular fruit substitute something else in!

The first is found on wineintro.com. So far this is was the first batch I have made and they were so yummy! A perfect evening or daytime cocktail, certain to please many! I know people have a lot of cookouts at this time of year and instead of offering many different beverges this would be a great way to simplify!

Sangria Recipes

Five Fruit Sangria Recipe

If you enjoy a medley of fruit flavors, then this sangria is just for you! It’s like having an entire roll of LifeSavers in your mouth :)

Ingredients
1 bottle red wine
1/2 cup brandy
1/2 cup triple sec
1/2 cup sugar
1 6 oz bottle club soda
1 orange
1 lemon
1 lime
1 red apple
1 peach

Cut all fruits into wedges and put into a pitcher. Add in rest of the ingredients and stir well. Let sit for 2 hours or more. Serve over ice.

This was outstanding! I used Beringers White Merlot, I can get the big 2 liter bottle for $6.99, then I used frozen organic fruit when possible and then fresh fruit for the others. It was a great mix! Craig and I both loved it! But I can’t stop at one!!

the next one I willing to give a shot is Blueberry Sangria (again found on wineintro.com)

Blueberries are great in the summertime, and have many health benefits.

Ingredients
1 bottle Spanish (or other favorite) red wine
1/3 cup sugar
1 cup apricot-flavored brandy
2 cups blueberries
1 cup sliced red grapes
1 cup sliced purple grapes

Mix together the wine, sugar, brandy and lemonade until well mixed. Add in the fruits, and refrigerate overnight.

we are going to an outdoor festival all of next week, but staying in a hotel, we have tons of great friends coming for all over the US and I know I will make at least a couple batches of each.

Kraft Foods also has what looks to be some promising mixes. Some of them use Crystal Light too, so that would help cut calories. I try to watch my intake of artifical coloring, but feel free to give them a shot too!

So tell me! Do you have a favorite Sangria recipe? share it below, OR if you have another idea of drinks for my Thirsty Thursday Post please email me at prissygreen at gmail.com

Eve Organics, Skin Care, Cosmetics and Accesories! Review + Giveaway

I was ecstatic when I received my package from Eve’s Organics. I love to play with eye colors and blush. I have loved Mineral makeups for so long and was so anxious to try all the pretty colors sent to me! Eve had me sold on them when I first looked at their Philosophy and Mission statements.
At Eve Organics, we strive to provide our customers with the finest in organic skin care products and mineral makeup.
We do not use ingredients whose sole purpose is to improve the look or texture of the product.
We invest our money into what goes into the bottle or jar – not the fancy bottle or jar itself. So if our products don’t look like they were purchased in a jewelry store, it’s okay with us. At Eve Organics, our products’ performance speaks for itself.
Avoid toxic ingredients in our products such as: dyes, lakes, synthetic fragrance, bismuth oxychloride, talc, parabens, sulfates, UREA, and others.
Give back to the community. Every quarter, Eve Organics will give 10% of its net profits to a different charity to help support people or communities in need.

That is just a piece of Eve’s mission but special enough that I wanted to highlight it for you readers!

I was able to try out their Radiant, an all over color that i used as a bronzer, the color is gorgeous and goes on so smoothly! it has a little bit of sparkle to it that makes it perfect for glamming up in the evening.

My eye shadow fave was the Bling Eyeshadow, it is a creamy taupe with a hint of apricot. It is just gorgeous on! I used it in my crease for some highlighting. I can’t say enough about how much I love the color! it is your perfect neutral but if you add more you can get a deeper color and go from office to out for the night! it is a must have!

Eve’s Organics Carries a full line of skin care, Clarity for acne prone, Balance to help with hormonal balance, Immunity-extra anitoxidants for your skin, as well as Renewal for Dry and Mature skin. They do have it all!

My other FAVORITE and I am excited about this one is their HOT DAY blush. i used this not only as a blush but as a lip color too. (throw a little chapstick on and layer the color over with your finger.) this color is puurfection! Gorgeous burgandy wine.

I also really like the color of their color JOYFUL also a blush. It gives me just the little hint of color that makes me looked flushed and happy.

I also had sample colors of Mink and Sangria for eyes. I am saving these for a special occasion! They are far too pretty to just use for a quick bite to eat at a restaurant!

I am amazed at how well the colors blend and feel a part of your skin after application. An important tip when working with mineral makeup is less is more, you can always apply more in thin layers to get a bolder look. All colors can be interchanged, you don’t just have to use your bronzer as a bronzer! Use some on your eyes or your lips and the same with eyeshadows and blush! have FUN!

Okay Eve has so very generously agreed to a giveaway for my beautiful Prissy Readers! You have your choice between, either two eyeshadows, or a foundation or a moisturizer! How sweet is that deal!

So what you have to do to win! Go to Eve’s Organics and tell me one product (and color if makeup) you would like to try! I personally want to try their Super Oxi D Acne Serum & Moisturizing Complex. (dern acne!)
