I have a fun easy giveaway for you today.  You do need to complete each mandatory entry and leave a separate comment for each.

  • All I need for you to do is Vote at Momdot.com Dottie Awards for me, in both categories, Michael Lang and John Lennon.  Come back here and tell me what vote # you were.
  • Vote for me over at Divine Caroline, come back here and tell me what vote # you were. (leave a 2nd comment)
  • Be an email subscriber. (leave a third comment stating you are)

I have some awesome prizes from some superb companies!  Ama la Face Cream, EO Products, ZUM soap (flavor only available at Whole Foods), A’Kin, Miessence, Yes to Carrots and Rare 2 B.  Well over $200 worth of natural skin care!

    Oh the Weis milk is what I get too- they have one other kind but the Weis is usually a little more affordable & they seem to work with Lancaster County (PA) farmers so I get the sense it might be a little more local.

    Eating Well had an amazing article this summer about how grass-fed bison are making a big comeback & why that’s great news & how the midwestern feedlots are so destructive- changed the way I look at things

    I would also highly recommend Tofurky brand to anyone who is vegetarian/vegan or just trying to make better food choices. They use only non-gmo products and their brats are incredible. I also love their Tofurky Jerky and their line of fake lunch meats is really good too.

Better dark bread choices, partially hydrogenated/white flour FREE pizza crusts, Acai-pear fruit cups, multi-grain tortilla chips, organic spring mix…

    They have a wider offering than the local grocery store.

    I have to drive 45 mins to get to a big, modern grocery store with lots of fresh stuff, so it was a pleasant surprise.

I have a sugar cane scrub now that is like chocolate but it’s not as granular as salt. It almost leaves a smooth sweet film I guess. Not a bad film….

    Karissa: I know what you mean. When I found out my sweaters were soft because they were coated in perfumed lard I about threw up. And yep, most bar soaps have a foundation in lard. nasty stuff. I too haven’t tried the ZUM soaps…I have smelled them though and my friend swears by them.

    I like to use this recipe for
    Hair Shine

    Stir 1 teaspoon honey into 4 cups (1 quart) warm water. Blondes may wish to add a squeeze of lemon. After shampooing, pour mixture through hair. Do not rinse out. Dry as normal.

    Works wonders!!

    Kirsten H.: yep…and its in all the mainstream fabric softeners too. Any product that contains the word Stearate/Stearyl/etc. is 90% going to be from lard. It CAN be made from veggie waxes/fats but its much cheaper and more common to make it out of lard left over from the meat industry.
