The 2009 Natural Health Beauty Awards
Thousands of readers and a panel of dermatologists helped select the 25 winners of the 5th Annual Beauty Awards of lotions and potions with natural ingredients.
With the help of 2,008 readers, who voted at www.naturalhealthmag.com for their favorite products and a group of esteemed dermatologist, 25 of the year’s best beauty products were chosen.
Now personally, I think this list sorta sucks the big one. I mean Sally Hansen, really? Oil of Olay, really? So if they have some natural ingredients, they can make the list…. Dove? gotta be kidding me. I highlighted the ones the made me laugh and cringe. Aveda is not natural, they don’t even use real essential oils.

such a joke! greenwashing at it’s best. sad because some people dont know better. I hope you readers do! =)
Um, Pantene? PANTENE?!?!?!?!?! I’ve got some old paint cans in the basement that I’m pretty sure contain more natural ingredients than Pantene. For crying out loud – are you sure these aren’t the Natural Health Beauty Awards from 1992?
I just saw the title of this one and knew I had to comment about how this list is ridiculous, but then I saw you took the words right out of my mouth. This list sucks indeed! There are much more deserving products and brands that are committed to REAL natural beauty products. Glad to see you agree – great post Karissa
I would totally volunteer to be on their panel next year
Like Shelly, I may just have to write to Natural Health Mag as well because this list is a huge disappointment, especially since many who read it will believe it.

Natural Health Beauty Award??? What are the requirements? I looked up many of these products that won and the ingredients. Really made me ill. Super scary that they are calling these products Natural. The dove beauty bar is a no go for vegan or vegetarians as they are using beef fat. Ugh… I wonder how many people realize that many commercial brand soap companies are using animal fat in their soaps. Thanks for the post. I think I will contact Natural Health Magazine about changing the name of their award.
