GreenSmart and Act2 Laptop Sleeve Review and Giveaway

This world always amazes me in the solutions people come up with to disastrous problems we create. Take for instance the bottles to bags that GreenSmart created. Gorgeous, and durable and not just a gimmick. My review will come in a moment, but first a little site review!

GreenSmart’s website is a fairly good resource for information on the process of recycling plastic bottles into fabrics (and other products for that matter). There is an easy-to-follow section about the process of creating rPET fabric particularly as it relates to the fabric they are using, and they also have an informative glossary of sustainable sourcing/manufacturing terms and useful information.

A Few Key Points From GreenSmart’s Website:

• PET/PETE is Polyethylene terephthalate – recycle symbol #1
• 230 bottles per person go to landfill per year (this adds up folks, according to this site they quantify it by giving us the stat that it is equivalent to filling up the Rose Bowl Stadium in California with crushed plastic bottles every two weeks!)
• These bottles are an environmental disaster – petroleum-based plastic that does NOT decompose
• Same chemical composition as polyester – so, same benefits that polyester offers, but from recycled source
• Each yard of finished fabric uses about 18—16 oz. bottles and saved 10,000 BTUs from manufacturing—enough power to light a 17 watt compact fluorescent light for 15 hours

I was sent two Laptop Sleeves.  The Bottles 2 Bags was my first and only choice, but they were sold out of my size.  boowhoo. And for good reason!  they are awesome!  They went ahead and insisted they send me a larger one, so I could at least get a feel for it.  They are thick, cushy, and green smart! My bag is is Storm Blue in color, and really very pretty. It also only weighs 7 ounces!  I have a nice laptop bag that I won last year, and it doesn’t quite match, but it does fit pretty nicely in there.  It still doesn’t fit my computer, but what I have been doing it putting my computer in the NeoGreene sleeve then in the Bottles to Bags, and then in my laptop bag.  I know it sounds like a lot of work, but trust me I don’t leave often!  You can buy Bottles to Bags on Amazon but check the pricing, seems like the blue ones are  more expensive, and the black ones are cheaper, but they have some from other sellers.

I really dig my NeoGreene Sleevetoo.  It fits my computer so well, like a glove really.  My only true complaint? It attracts dog hair!  I swear what little amount of white hair Bleu has, is magnetically attracted to this sleeve!
This sleeve has 4mm walls for optimal protection and minimum weight. It also has a specially designed gusset and mesh interior to breath for your laptop. Ever think about putting your hot laptop in an insulated sleeve? Now your laptop will cool down that much faster. That is so beyond awesome! The NeoGreene Sleeveis waterproof, too, so if you spill on the outside, no problem. Easy to grab zipper pulls (2, by the way) round out the thoughtfulness. This is no ordinary sleeve. So much thought was put into this! It is also formaldehyde free, no VOC’s, lead, poisons etc etc etc. Prices range from $25-$40. Make sure you measure your computer too, it has a little give but not a lot!

So what I am really falling in love with now is this, baby.

You can actually work on the computer and protect it at the same time!  Maybe I am crazy but I didn’t know such a thing existed!  I am always moving around, kitchen, bedroom, office, living room, while working, that would be so great!  It has pockets, extra space, and a shoulder strap that is removable!  And only priced at $45-55 depending on size.  Loving it. GreenSmart has other bags, like a brief, and even a water tote that comes with a stainless steel water bottle. the tote is insulated, and keeps water nice and cool.

Great light weight moisturizer,m and was perfect for the summer time! Scent and all! The Bohemian Blue Body Wash is nice and silky to the touch, has a great sudsy lather. Created with moisturizing coconut!

Citrine Rose Hydrating Body Wash is a luxurious, moisturizing body wash. Quite soft and nice bright bubbles of bursting citrus! Coconut-based body wash provides conditioning, moisturizing, and anti-aging benefits while citrine, white jasmine and blue rose provide a luminous, feminine feel. Includes many essential oils including citrus and rose.  The scent really was quite outstanding.  I used this as a body wash once, and then as a bubble bath once.  very nice! I really don’t even know where to begin today with this review and giveaway.  I am not sure that I have every sent a line of cosmetics that I enjoyed as much as this.  and i am really not fluffing.  and I have the pics to prove it!

Going Green need not be boring or basic. I admit, I was doubtful that the eye pencil would last, it is so soft, but it is so highly pigmented that it did.  I do have my doubts about it lasting on a really hot and humid day though.  I think it is one for a night out, not for a day at the beach! =)

And the Make-Up Primer, oh the  Primer!  Might be my favorite, I don’t think I could pick one, but this stuff totally rocks my face off, and my socks.  It is silicone free, and softened with jojoba oil, but not too slick.  Lets the foundation glide on, but stay put.  In a word, marvelous. Marvelous dahling, simply marvelous. Seems to mask ever flaw on my skin, no noticeable pore to be seen, not a wrinkle in site!

The Wild Rose Foundation, I think would match just about any skin tone as well. It seems to be one of the universal colors, like a neutral, cause believe me ladies, I am not an easy match.  And it matches me, seemingly flawlessly.  It has a great coverage, neither too light nor to heavy, if I need more I can add more, I simply shake, and apply with my fingers. It is also a treatment to help fight hyperpigmentation, and is an SPF of 20!

The Wild Rose Concealer is a brightening concealer, so too light for blemishes, but just for for around the nose, and perfect for covering dark circles under the eyes, and trust that I have those!  It has great coverage, and it nice and creamy, and dries and stays around all day a huge plus!  I am actually going to order it a step up in the next color.
