ecoTOOLS Bath and Body Line Review and Giveaway
Last month I told you about ecoTools new Bath and Body line. Well now I am here to tell you even more!
The entire Bath and Body line from ecoTools is 98% Natural, paraben, phthalate and cruelty free. Comes in a recyclable bottle, biodegradable ingredients, plus all the products have been dermatologist, allergy and clinically tested. They really did their homework!
I have become a pretty avid bar soap crazed girl. Haven’t been using many gels or shower creams at all. Occasional for reviews, but I always end up swamping back to the trusty, hand-crafted, old-school soap bars. Well I may be gel’in a little more often. Clean Skin Cleaner World ($7.99) is soft and smooth, has a great lather, and washes off really clean. I don’t like when I feel like I still have a cleanser on after I shower. Yet does leave a bit of moisture too, wish it great.
After sudsing up with Cleaner Skin Cleaner World, I was able to soften up with Sustainable Softness ($3.99). Made with nourishing Shea Butter, aloe, sunflower seed oil and jojoba seed oil this “lotion” actually works more like a cream. It absorbs into the skins very quickly, yet leaves a great barrier of protection. I think it will be great on dry skin in the winter time.
Last in what I reviewed is the Blooming Planet Fresh Floral Body Spray ($7.99). This was a disappointment. All the products have fragrance to them, but they actually smell, light and a bit tropical. This is just far to floral for my nose. I know plenty of ladies who like florals, I am just not one of them. I am unsure as to why they just didn’t stick with the same fragrance for the whole line. If you are a floral scent person, you will probably like it. It isn’t that the floral it’s self is bad, I have always had headache issues with them.

The rest of the line consists of Love Heels All (intensive heel cream $7.99), One Hand Helps Others (intensive hand cream $7.99), Replenish Your Natural Resources (body butter).
They also have three extremely cute gift sets: ALL FOUR THE CAUSE hand & foot care set , GREEN, CLEAN, GO travel set ($9.99) and a BE GREEN, LIVE CLEAN body care set ($14.99). The entire line is available at Walgreen stores nationwide, and at their incredible prices, who wouldn’t pick some up!?
I have two sets of products to giveaway! Each winner with receive one of the following.
Clean Skin Cleaner World, Sustainable Softness and a Blooming Planet. All full sizes.
To enter got to 1% for the Planet and tell me a useful fact you learned there. ecoTools Participates, that is why it is relevant.

THE RECEIVING PROCESS
In an effort to keep things simple, we require that environmental organizations receive their donations directly from member companies. We let them work together to determine how much—and at what point during the year—money is received. Fostering these relationships is beneficial to both parties as they work together to make a difference. 1% For The Planet does not serve as an intermediary in this process. We just ensure the Earth is the ultimate beneficiary.

Every member company has the opportunity to engage in a dialogue with the rest of our membership, foster new business relationships, connect with likeminded individuals and share ideas and resources. 1 percent of annual sales. That’s a healthy chunk of change, no matter what size, or how successful, your company. Currently, over 700 businesses worldwide make up the 1% For The Planet membership, pledging that impressive amount to environmental organizations each year. 1% FTP is a powerful way for businesses to help drive positive environmental change, gain recognition for their responsibility, and promote further action on the part of consumers and other companies.

I learned that “membership creates opportunities for companies to network, conduct business and simply associate themselves with over 700 companies that have made the same noble commitment.”
Based on their own business models, the two men hatch a plan to encourage more businesses to donate 1% of sales to environmental groups. Yvon calls it an “Earth Tax.” Craig calls it 1% For The Planet. They go with Craig’s idea.

i learned that Fenway is the Chief Canine Officer and has his own email address: fenway@onepercentfortheplanet.org
He is a skier by winter, kayaker by summer, and loyal Red Sox fan along with bringing over 4 years of labrador insights to 1% For The Planet — too cute and thanks for another great contest!

I learned there are 61 companies in NY that participate, although i was kinda bummed that none are in the Rochester area. Also I like that Member companies donate directly to their desired nonprofits—not through 1% FTP. They do that to encourage independent, personal relationships between member companies and the groups they support.

It is SO cool that “Now you can support 1% FOR THE PLANET in a whole new way — by shopping at the 1% WEBSTORE.” I know I will check it out!
“ince 2002, 1% For The Planet has inspired members of the business community to contribute 1% of sales to environmental groups around the world.”

I learned the companies can choose which non-profit to give to based on many different factors. You can search by where the organization is located, to what the group’s priority is like oceans or rivers.

They believe that industry and ecology are inherently connected. I love their philosophy because it is true. If years ago things were done with a view for the future of the planet and the sustainability of our resources then things would be different now.

I used the search nonprofits tool on the 1% For the Planet website to discover organizations in my own area that participate (e.g. Chicago Wilderness Trust, Prairie Rivers Network, Friends of the Chicago River). That’s a really cool feature of the website and an added benefit to partnering with the organization.

I learned about the rigorous vetting process that 1% for the planet conducts on all of its nonprofit participating groups. It’s important to do this in an age where being “green” even in name only can induce people to donate or purchase a product! I’m glad all the nonprofits involved in 1% for the planet are actual environmental groups.
