Fair Trade Sports, Inc is the first sports equipment company in the US to launch a full line of eco-certified Fair Trade sports balls, ensuring fair wages and healthy working conditions for our adult workers. Be sure to also check out their sweatshop-free apparel. They have both an online retail store and wholesale store.  Here are their product certifications.

Fair Trade Sports are committed to donate all profits after taxes to children’s charities, both domestic and international. Sound familiar? It’s a similar idea to the one behind the Newman’s Own brand you see in the grocery store. To learn more, take a quick trip over to the  Fair Trade Sports blog.

We expect to reach profitability by our third birthday in late 2009. Until then, we are donating $1000 annually to these charities, which benefit at-risk children worldwide. All of the sports balls are fully compliant with international ball standards. Plus Vegan!

Have a favorite charity to suggest? If it’s related to helping kids, then they’re interested. Drop them a line.

Do you need athletic gear for your kids this year? it is not to late to purchase it from Fair Trade Sports.  If you don’t need it for your own kids, I would personally be very grateful if you passed this post along, or at least their website information.

Here is video of a Fair Trade Worker sewing the 650 stitches involved in making a soccer ball.

Fair Trade Sports carries pretty much every sports ball you can think of.  Soccer(all sizes) , Volleyball, Football, Rugby and basketball.  They have recently made an addition to the family and added in sports apparel too.  Shirts, tee, hats and more.  If anyone purchases from Fair Trade Sports through my Amazon Affiliate Link, I will donate the any money earned to Fair Trade Sports.

Fair Trade Sports wants to start the BUZZ about their company and to do that, they are offering up one of their offical weight and size, vegan Fair Trade Sports Eco-Footballs. With soft handling and great performance, this Fair Trade football is an excellent training football. All-weather, high-grip surface means year-round outdoor play. And Fair Trade certified means the adult workers who produced this ball received a fair wage – at no extra cost to you! Eco-certified and certified Fair Trade. Union-made and vegan. Official weight and size. All after-tax profits go to children’s charities. This football is worth $39.99!

To enter go the  Fair Trade Sports website or Fair Trade Sports blog and tell me something you learned. Trust me, it won’t be hard, their website and blog are chock full of information!
