Aromatherapy Bible: The Definitive Guide to Using Essential Oils, Review and Giveaway
Whether is be oils for clearing my sinuses or oils to heal and protect, that is where you will always find my nose. Deep hidden in a book on Aromatherapy. Whenever I get to feeling ill that is the first thing I run to, and the first thing I research for treatment.
Inside that bottle of essential oil lies the key to beauty, health, and wellbeing-and the The Aromatherapy Bible: The Definitive Guide to Using Essential Oils is a comprehensive illustrated reference containing the information needed to work aromatherapy’s magic. It includes a directory of essential oils plus recipes for creams and lotions; remedies to overcome negative emotions; first aid therapies; and techniques to enhance meditation and massages.

It teaches you to be gentle with practicing with the elderly and especially babies, that they should really be treated by a licensed practicing Aromatherapist. But it does teach you more then just the basic fundamentals. It is a beautiful small book, that has loads of useful imformation jam packed between exquisite pictures.
I have two of Aromatherapy Bible s by Gill Farrer-Halls up for grabs. To enter, please tell me your absolute favorite essential oil. You can find a list at Aromatics International.

Nuvo Cosmetics Review
Nuvo Cosmetics Nuvo Cosmetics skincare captures the highest quality blends of natural and pure ingredients that are good for you: essential oils, botanical extracts, powerful nutrients, vitamins, and vital antioxidants. Nuvo Cosmetics is the essential step towards naturally beautiful skin.
Our philosophy is very simple- to create high quality, natural European skin care products, using natural benefit rich botanicals for a flawless, beautiful skin. We incorporate the best of science, combined with the most effective ingredients the nature has to offer, and hundreds of years of knowledge to deliver gentle but effective skin care products.
Our skin care products are cruelty-free, eco-friendly, and we never test our products on animals. Nuvo Cosmetics is committed to protecting our environment and nature, and supporting our future.  That’s why we only use natural and/or organic ingredients, fair trade sources, and environmentally responsible packaging. We strive to preserve nature’s beauty and bounty as a legacy for the generations to come.
I was sent the Sandalwood Olive Oil Soap to try and I am so captivated by the fragrance! I just love the smell of it on Craig too! It lathers up so much more then other natural bar soaps I have tried that are made with Olive Oil. A nice rich and creamy later.
I also tried their Intense Moisture Body Lotion. This is one fantastic summer body lotion! It sinks in to skin fast, and actually appears to be quite light, but when it comes to moisture, there is nothing light about it! I don’t like to use body creams and butters in the warm weather but my skin gets dry even in humid Indiana. This lotion has kicked my dry skin butt, all without feeling heavy.
And lastly they sent a bottle of their Rose Floral Water. YUMMY. I have never been a huge fan of rose but Eclipse Spa made me rethink that. Now having a Floral Water in a scent you love is a must have for summer and for winter. It is cooling and hydrating and majorly refreshing! Use it as your toner, or use it as a face spritz. (that is how I use mine!)
When I went to Louisville a few weeks ago, we were at a music festival that was a little cramped, but mostly it was HOT!! very hot and very humid. I was able to steal breaks back up to the hotel and even then would remain hot. I finally put this in the tiny fridge we had, and ahhh, what a sweet relief! I no longer felt sticky, or hot!
Overall I give Nuvo a big Prissy Green Thumbs Up! They have eco-friendly products, disclose their ingredients on their website and have effective skincare. What more can you ask for?
Find Nuvo on Facebook and on Twitter! Giveaway to follow shortly!

Not another reusable bag! Well this is the perfect item for Farmer’s Market and to replace those annoying and land filling plastic produce bags. The Ecobag! They are about the size of a tote bag, but designed to let veggies and fruits breathe. It will hold up to 40Lbs! Now that is a lot of tomatoes! You don’t have to use these just for your veggies, you can use them for anything!
Craig and I have been using these soley for produce, we hit up farmer’s markets either on friday night or saturday mornings and they are so perfect! I have seen FEW other people with them, and we are always asked where we got them. I am quick to reply at Ecobags!
Ecobags does totes too! Even custom printing! Lunch bags and even a bag that is specifically for produce. And water bottles!

Brittanie’s Thyme Discount
July 31, 2009 by Karissa
Filed under Info You Want to Know
Because of the rampant “green washing” that has taken place throughout the
personal care industry, Brittanie’s Thyme LLC decided it was imperative to
become USDA Certified Organic. It is the only means of proving to users that
a product is what it claims in terms of organic. If you remember I did a review of Brittanie’s Thyme here.
The company has realized its goal and is now USDA NOP certified. Its
manufacturing facility and 85% of its products are now certified at 95% or
higher. To celebrate, we are offering 20% all orders in the month of August.

Win with Under the Sink and Seventh Generation!
July 30, 2009 by Karissa
Filed under Info You Want to Know
Seventh Generation is hosting an “Under the Sink Makeover Contest†from July 22 to August 14, 2009 that asks you to reveal your best friend’s dirtiest secrets – those hiding under the kitchen sink, that is! With the area under the kitchen sink as a family’s typical dumping ground for chemical products, Seventh Generation wants families nationwide to know about – and detox – this potentially hazardous area, usually within arm’s reach of kids.
The “Under the Sink Makeover Contest†is seeking nominations today through August 14, for under the kitchen sink areas that are in desperate need of organization and detoxification.
Our large family has a mix of germs and children running all over the house. Typically we pick up whatever cleaning product is on sale, green or not. Over time and with more education on the hazards of cleaning products to our children, we’ve slowly been replacing our current household cleaners with “green†versions. Just one peek under our sink and you can spot the hazards right away.
Submit a photo of the area under a friend’s sink and a 250-word description on why they deserve an under the sink makeover (e.g., she’s concerned for the health of her family and the environment, the area under her sink a toxic wasteland, she’s overwhelmed by the chaos of motherhood and wants to change but doesn’t know where to begin, etc.), for a chance to win great prizes.
One lucky grand prize winner will receive a package that includes:
· An in-home consultation at the friend’s house with Dr. Alan Greene, practicing pediatrician and specialist in green living
· A one year supply of Seventh Generation products for both the entrant and the friend in need
· A trip to New York City for the entrant and her friend that includes a one-night stay at the W New York – Times Square hotel
· A day of pampering at New York’s Green Spa that will include a Body Polish, Wellness Massage, Ocean Vegan Spa Manicure/Pedicure along with a one hour make-up application and lesson
Four other finalists and their friends will receive a Seventh Generation Living Home Starter Kit containing a variety of home-cleaning products for their own under the kitchen sink makeover, in addition to a luxurious Lavera home spa kit containing Lavera’s customer favorite BODY SPA shower gel, body scrub and bath salts, and premium LAVERÉ Anti-Aging body lotion to pamper themselves.
Now the area under my sink actually looks pretty good, no bad stuff at all. But I am contimplating buy some bad stuff or borrowing and making my friend submit so I can win! j/k But what a trip! Good luck!
Interview with Lee From MySentimentExactLee
July 29, 2009 by Karissa
Filed under Info You Want to Know
I have made a new online friend. And she is looking for a few good people to join her and become part of her blog followers. I wanted to share because I think her blog is great and wonderfully written. Have fun browsing it!
Her name: Lee
her blog: MySentimentExactLee

Lee when did you first start blogging and what brought you to it?
I started blogging in October of 2008. My friend Sarah of TheOhanaMama.com had a successful blog and she thought I would be good at it. I put in my “resume” which was basically a post to a blog called Peekaboo Picks. They were looking for review bloggers. Sarah worked for them as well. At first the owner turned me down saying she had too many entries, but later she read mine over and really liked it. That is where I got my start.
Are you a SAHM or a WAHM?
I am a SAHM. I dabbled in a weekend job and I found it difficult to juggle everything. I have so much respect for work at home moms. I honestly don’t know how they do it. I only worked on weekends and I wanted to pull my hair out.
You have two boys right? names and ages?
I have two boys ages 4 1/2 and 16 months. Jason is my 4 1/2 year old, he is hilarious. Spencer is my 16 month old and he is stubborn very very stubborn.
What is one of the important things you are trying to teach them about the environment?
Jason is all about The Big Green Help from Nickelodeon. He actually tries to educate me about recycling and although I am already versed in what he is teaching me he really enjoys it so I let him go on and on. He knows we turn off the water while we brush our teeth, recycle any product that is recyclable and we have cut back on paper products around the house.
Who is most influential to you?
Either other bloggers or anyone else in your life. Sarah of TheOhanaMama is always trying to help me and is always there when I need her. Erin with TheMomBuzz is also great for helping me get a post out into the blogosphere. In my personal life my husband is always supportive, my best friends Meredith and Elisa always challenge me to better myself and help me find ways to do so. Here is my shout out to them, love you ladies!
Favorite Blogs?
Such a hard question. NoTimeForFlashCards.com is a great education resource for rainy days and I’ve always enjoyed 5MinutesforMom.com and MomDot.com In general I tend to lean towards more simple blogs because I get sensory overload. LOL. But those two tend to really stand out.
Blog Pet Peeves?
As mentioned above I tend to have sensory overload. I want to be able to go to a blog and find what I’m looking for. Some blogs have gotten so fancy that this is nearly impossible. There are so many flashy things and so many different places to click I get confused. I’ve always been about simplicity, both in my personal life and my blogging life.
What does your husband think of your blog and the free perks?
Oh my husband LOVES my blog. We have received two big vacations, and numerous high end products so there isn’t much for him to complain about. And since I only posted 2 or 3 times a week it keeps me busy but not too busy. He is actually considering starting a blog of his own.
What was one of the most valuable lessons you learned at BlogHer ‘09? Would you go back? I learned that blogging is more about the people than the perks. The people make it worth my time. I love meeting new people and learning from them. I also enjoyed being sponsored by a company that I really stand behind. SafetyTat.com was my sponsor this year and I hope they will be sending me back next year. I would definitely go back to BlogHer and next time I’ll be more prepared for how fast everything moves. It was overwhelming.
Why do you think your blog MySentimentExactLee is valuable to readers? MySentimentExactLee is exactLEE that, my opinions and I do have them. I won’t just give you an advertisement about a product, I will give you an in depth review of what I really thought. I lean towards the positive so don’t expect any catty negative reviews but I try to be honest and put my true thoughts into each review.
Where would you like to see MySentimentExactLee be in the next year?
I would really like more followers. I feel like while the PR reps like me, no one is reading my blog. So please PLEASE go check it out and follow me both there and on Twitter @MySentiment. I’m going to start adding a lot more non review style posts to the blog as well and that should be fun.
No Emails for a Bit
July 29, 2009 by Karissa

AUGH!!! one thing after another. Please be advised that for the time being no emails (Prissy Updates) will be going out. I am trying to get the old Feedburner subscriptions forwarded here, but there is a hiccup.
Trust me I am not happy about this, but I would rather keep all 1,600 subscribers then lose them all and force everyone to sign up to Emails and RSS feeds again.
If anyone is aware of a solution to this, I would be greatly obliged. I tried to install FeedBurner FeedSmith but it is giving me an error with I try to activate it.
I also wanted to let you know that you will not get an extra entry for following my blog, as this is not an option anymore. I will give those credit that left the comment prior to 7/25. I noticed a few comments today with that on there, and I no longer have the widget installed. Again, those that left the comment before the change will get credit but none after. thanks!
Pebble.com Review
Do you shop online? Do you look at reviews before purchase? Would you like to be able to ask someone that owns the item that you are interested in a question or two? With a straight answer, not a salesperson answer?
Well I may have the solution for you! Pebble.com! Pebble is a brand new comparative shopping site that allows you a forum, so you can ask question about the items you are interested in. Want to know if a Casio Ex Slim comes with built in shock absorption? Just ask, one of the many people that already own the camera are there to help you out.
What I am truly impressed by is that these are not PAID reviews. Two companies came out last year and they were paid for review sites. I don’t want to know what someone read about the camera! I want an true, honest, user review!
I have used it myself after first hearing about to check out phones myself. I found the site hard to navigate, and full of too many ads. I wasn’t sure if they were part of Pebble.com or not. It took a few minutes to really get a feel for what I was doing on the site. I think it has potential, but they definitely need a lot more reviews as the first 3 things I tried to search had no information whatsoever. And well, when you are looking for technology, the sooner the better right?
