Annie Chun Review and Giveaway! One Day Only!

Annie Chun was born and raised in Seoul, Korea, and came to Northern California as a young adult, where her family owned and operated a top-rated Korean restaurant in San Francisco.

Annie began selling her signature Asian sauces at the Marin County Farmers’ market in the early ’90s. It wasn’t long before her loyal customers began to encourage her to start her own company and package the products for the retail market.

So, in 1992, with $500 and a lot of help from friends and family, she founded Annie Chun’s Gourmet Foods. Her goal was to deliver healthy, authentic Asian foods to Western consumers, and to make Asian cooking “as easy to prepare as spaghetti” for Americans. Many of her products are based on traditional recipes that have been part of her family for generations.

In 1997 Annie moved beyond Asian sauces, introducing the first line of specialty Asian pastas produced in the United States. Her award-winning products are now distributed throughout North America and in some parts of Europe.

Annie lives with her husband and two children in Northern California.

Her Noodle bowls are made mainly from cornstarch allowing them to breakdown really quickly, I love this! A few of the products are organic but not all, but I can attest that they are all 100% delicious! I literally was scraping my fingers in the bowl to get the last of the peanut sauce out. Wow, that was good, and for a microwave meal, holy cow! I usually don’t like anything out of the micro! but that is what is really cool, mostly the noodles and water are just cooked in the microwave, then dumped out (at least is the meals I tried) then the other ingredients added and then your meal is done!

I tried the Noodle and Sauce Bowl in the Peanut and Sesame Sauce. This was the one that I was literally licking the bowl. It was so awesome. I know the mister was jealous of me that day! I had offered it to him one day when we ate and his food was as ordered but he didn’t take it. I know then he was kicking himself! It tasted like I had ordered it in a restaurant! I also tried the Miso Soup Bowl. This was as good, if not better then the Miso Soup I get in any Japanese restaurant! It was delicious! The noodles really stand out because they taste so fresh, in all honesty everything does!

I think I have mentioned a time or two about how I am a candy addict. Well the mister is an ice-cream addict, well he can’t eat it alone now can he? So he has forced, (ha!) his dirty habit on me! it usually happens on nights when we try and eat a smaller healthy dinner, or we eat too early. The Mint was pretty close in the rankings with the Vanilla Bean too. I wasn’t an enormous fan of the Passion Fruit. I think it is because I am used to fruity ice-creams having chunks, other then that I can’t figure it cause the flavor was good. They are all really refreshing and good, and a nice change from the over powering super duper caramel 5 chocolate swirled and dunked and chunked you usually see! I get lost trying to pick out ice-cream, these make it easy!

Lavanila Introduces Healthy Deodorant!

I really have to admit that since I found that natural deodorant can work, THANK YOU BUBBLE AND BEE! I am now addicted to trying them all. although my main go to is always Clove Bubble and Bee, I love the scents Lavanila is offering! Vanilla Lavender and Vanilla Coconut are going to have be mine for starters. Who knew a girl could start a deodorant collection? Maybe it might be the new trend?

I tried 2 products, one of which was the Luscious Lime Exfoliating Face and Body Wash. I love the citrus-y smell of lime. I have been on a kick lately. I never could find natural lime scents so now I jump on them! This lathers into a lovely foam, and cleanses beautifully. I have issues with the exfoliators separating depending on which way the bottle is sitting, but that doesn’t really matter so much. This is really all about the scent and lather! Which is gorgeous!

The other product I tested out is Organic Coconut Hair Conditioner Treatment. This is pure Organic Coconut Oil Blended with Lavender and Cedarwood oils. Coconut provides a protective layer to combat the damaging effects of sun, wind and cold weather. It is great for restoring your hair from damage caused by excessive coloring, or use of chemical laden hair products. It calms an itchy dry scalp as well. The lavender and cedarwood are restorative, calming, and soothing.
This is a great product to use for styling.Use a little after blow drying your hair to set your style. I used this the second I got it. And it going in my bag to Florida, Shelly said it is great for the beach, and I have been using it on my hair in the shower so the heat really works it in. The smell is like a field of lavender while sipping a Pina Colada!

Joyful Canine Review and Giveaway

Now don’t run away feline owners, err those owner by felines, she has products for you too! If you don’t have pets but appreciate photos of them you have to check her site out because she has the cutest pics showing off her Joyful Animal products for Joyful Canine!

I was able to try out two products, the first of which was the Canine Breath Freshener. My girl dog Bayles, is our stinky girl. She has stinky feet, stinky farts and stinky breath! Always has! But she loves this stuff! She sorta wants to hate it, because she knows it helps her (like a kid with bubble gum medicine) but she loves it. Now granted it isn’t the miracle cure all and her breath isn’t fresh for days, but it does last for a few hours. So that makes me adore it! cause she does have some funky breath! I tell ya she went from the cute puppy breath stage to old lady breath! It is also only $6.95 and will last for a long time!

I also requested to try the Dog Calming Mist. I try and use this on Bayles when she gets scared during thunderstorms, but anything short of a horse tranquilizer doesn’t really do much, poor girl! Bleu on the other hand LOVES IT! I can spritz him right in the face and he will got lay down. On some days i will get packages from Fed Ex, USPS, and UPS, Bleu barks his head off at these poor guys. I can spray him with this and he will chill out and stay in his bed (that would be underneath our bed) and growl a little but not come charging at the door. He is the sweetest dog but wants to be Mr. Protector. This helps us get him back down to earth level when he goes off to dogland.

We are heading to Florida soon and I haven’t had any time to make a flea preventative so I think with all the proof I have had of how well these products work, I am going to get her flea spray, no icky sand flea crustaceans for me! gross!
