The fashion show will be held on April 22, 2009 from 7-9 PM in the Toyon Lounge, the culmination of a weeklong campus-wide Greenfest coordinated by Students for a Sustainable Stanford in collaboration with several other student groups. This fashion show is a celebration of diversity in the context of environmental consciousness and seeks to present a wide variety of styles and artistic expression. “Our objective is to raise awareness and promote eco-friendly, alternative fashion on the Stanford campus and in the surrounding Bay Area,” says head coordinator Darienne Tuner. “By highlighting the applicability of sustainable practices, we hope to combine the power of creativity and action in support of global awareness!” The Stanford Sustainable Fashion Show’s mission to nurture the next generation of sustainable designers and thinkers makes it the perfect showcase for Sweet Skins’ designs. In addition to the 20 clothing brands, five student designers have been invited to showcase their work in the show.
