SkinnySkinny Review and Giveaway!
SkinnySkinny Organic & Eco Savvy. They got that right! This is one of my favorite stores to window shop. The site is nice and pretty, and very relaxing. Gorgeous pictures of products, and all of their products sound and look like comfort food for the skin. SkinnySkinny is so good Oprah is boasting about it her May 2009 magazine!
First let me tell you a little about their eco savvy side. skinnyskinny makes a wide-range of products that are all made from certified organic ingredients. We make excellent soaps, body oils, pillows, lip balms, gifts, and much more (just ask us). But this is really only half of our story (because that story would be a real snoozer): we are 100% carbon-neutral; we use recycled, reclaimed, and sustainable materials for all of our packaging; we listen to customer feedback; and with very few exceptions, we make every single product ourselves in our Brooklyn, NY workshop. This means that 98% of our products are made entirely in the US. Our facility and products have been registered with the FDA we are members of the Organic Trade Association, most of our products are vegan, and all of our products are cruelty-free.

My first experience with SkinnySkinny was a 100% recycled sleeve with hip graphics (printed with soy inks of course) and unwrapping the reclaimed paper encasing SkinnySkinny’s bar of soap. It was Organic Lemon and Blood Orange. It is my favorite soap I have ever used. And trust me, I have tried A LOT! Ground oatmeal gently exfoliates, and too a silky sheen. it is great to shave with for the exfoliation and moisturization!
I was also able to try their organic lip balms, and Clara was such a doll and sent me another. Now I am tossed up in which one I like more, so I am just going say that their lip balms are utterly marvelous! The first one I had, I literally dug out the end of it to use the last little bit. Now when you have 25 lips balms in 12 different places around the house, car, work and purse, that is really saying something huh? I assure you this, stuff is that good! That flavor was Organic Clover Honey & Citrus. The new cherished lip balm I treasure like solid gold, is Organic Tea Tree & Mint. These are the same formulation and neither are waxy at all, i find that waxy balms do nothing to help my starving lips, wax helps to trap moisture in, well if there isn’t moisture in there, then how does that help? Finally someone gets that! These balms glide on like butter, provide a very slight sheen, which means men and women will both love them.
Next on my list of loves, is their Organic Bath Salts. True Nirvana in a bottle kiddos! I am telling you the intoxicating scent alone will make you want to stay in the tub forever but the moisture and the tension that leaves your body will make you want to do it again everyday!
I tried the organic arnica and rosemary bath salts. It really couldn’t have come at a better time. We got a Wii Fit and I worked my little tushy off, and ya know how you are always more sore day two post workout? Well I was determined to work out that day but could barely stretch. I jumped (ahem, yea right!) in the tub with my Bath salts, and relaxed for about 25 minutes. My muscles felt so much better, I got that lactic acid out of them, and was ready to go back to Hoola Hooping! They also leave you skin nice and conditioned too which is a really nice treat!
Here is what skinnyskinny says:
Arnica has traditionally been used to ease sore joints and muscles. Rosemary, in all of its earthy herby understated charm, eases the ego and helps to normalize a wide range of skin conditions. Calendula and aloe calm and sooth. Shea butter and extra-virgin olive oil leave skin unbelievably soft and supple. The sea salts in this blend are harvested completely by hand from a protected region of France. These salts are never washed or refined and are certified by Agriculture Biologique Francaise (French Organic Farming). These wonderful organic sea salts are very high in nutrients and minerals that are essential to the human body.

i need something to relax…I love having hot baths and my job requires alot of heavy lifting (hey I cooked 2700Kgs of mac today and had to lift it all)
so a hot bath is a must have in my house
