Leakey Life Review and Giveaway
The next Earth Week item I have for you is extremely unique and quite beautiful!
It is a special line of jewelry that’s made by Maasai women in Kenya and is a perfect for women constantly on the go. Its called the Leakey Collection and it was founded in 2002 by Katy and Philip Leakey. Their work includes the design and manufacture of contemporary jewelry that is hand made by the Maasai women and men of Kenya from environmentally sustainable materials. The flagship item of the collection- Zulugrass- is sold in individually or in multistrand, which allows you to get precisely the color, depth and weight of the jewelry that you want. It has an earthy, organic look and feel, yet is completely modern.
Zulugrass is great for every women because its light weight, durable and most most importantly versatile. A woman no longer has pack a bunch of bracelets, necklaces, hair ties etc. because Zulugrass allows a woman to get several looks from a few lightweight strands. Further, depending on the color and amount of strands used- the look can be as subdued or as colorful a she wants- just a couple twists or some added strands an you have literally dozens of looks.
Isn’t it simply stunning? Using natural elements such as fallen wood, grass and porcelain, these renowned designers create unique products while protecting the environment and providing economic opportunity to the local communities. Zulugrass and Zuluwood beads, bracelets and necklaces are sold in stores worldwide.
I have 3 single strands in a blue, a red and an off red (think crayola’s brick red) and I just love them! they are stretchy, so you can stretch them and use them as a necklace, anklets, bracelets or whatever you choose! They really are pretty and will dress up an outfit really fast! and since they are lightweight, they make for easy wear and are extremely durable too.
If you want a chance to win, head on over to Leakey Life and tell me one product that you would love to own and wear, don’t forget to come back and leave a comment, you might get lost over there! These beautiful pieces would really make great Mother’s Day gifts!
Here is what you will win! The Succulent Berry Multistrand Necklace and Bracelet Combo Pictured (color pictured to the right) and the set below is what you will win, only you will win the Succulent Berry Color! Retails for $70! Thank you Leakey!

Honey Vinegar Spinach Salad
April 22, 2009 by Karissa
Filed under Recipes: Home, Skin, Food
I got this in an email from Cyber Cucina today and it looks so DELISH! Now I haven’t tried it yet but I think you could probably mix apple cider vinegar or red wine vinegar and honey as the substitute for the Emiliana Dressing.
Mister and I might have to have this tomorrow or Friday!
2 hard cooked eggs
4 slices cooked bacon
1 avocado
2 tablespoons EV olive oil
2 tablespoons Emiliana Honey Vinegar Dressing
Eclipse Spa Review and Giveaway
Can I just say holy mackerel of moisturizing! This scrub is the diggity! the diggity is all things diggity! When i tell you that you don’t need to use a lotion afterwards, if it weren’t for getting dirty, you could go DAYS with out using a moisturizer after using this bad puppy! This will be in my beauty arsenal forever! When Eclipse Spa asked me which scrub I would like to try out, the Lavender or the Red Roses, my first instinct was to go with the Lavender, if you have read this blog for long at all, you know that is my favorite scent. But I went against my normal grain and went with the Red Rose scent at their suggestion. They told me it smells like fresh cut roses and that it is their best seller.
Oh my heavens. It smells like a bunch of procrastinating men at 6PM on Valentine’s Day! Just like the Flower Shop they just left! it really smells delicious! As soon as it arrived I I opened it up and was astounded that is really smelled just like roses and not like a fake rose scent. I went in the bathroom and scrubbed my hands, I was amazed! I actually had to wipe some of the moisture off my hands as I went back to typing that day, I couldn’t wait to hop in the shower the next day so I could get the yummy smell and scrubbing action all over! My next plans are the lavender just to mix things up a bit. Right now these are both on sale for $12.99! ladies and gentleman that is a STEAL!!! I should also add that salt scrubs are generally my favorite but it seems that because the sugar is suspended in something thicker like the Shea butter, it doesn’t melt away as fast, so it gives a fantastic scrub!
| Sugar Scrubs | |

Enriched with hand-harvested African Shea Butter, your skin will be nourished, protected, and incredibly irresistible after this body treatment. Eclipsespa’s sugar scrubs are unparalleled in quality. Our Shea Butter is purchased directly from a group of tribes women in Ghana, Africa who have formed a cooperative in their village. We are happy to be supporting these women with fair trade pricing, creating hope, vibrance and abundance in their small village. |

Erbaorganics Review and Giveaway
Pregnancy is a magical time in one’s life. Erbaorganics’ eco-friendly mommy-to-be line was designed with care and consideration. From stretch mark prevention to swollen feet and itchy bellies, Erbaorganics natural and organic skincare is here to relieve, rejuvenate and refresh. Pamper yourself with luxurious creams, oils, and baths made from the finest organic ingredients available. Paraben, SLS, pesticide, and cruelty free, all of our formulas are completely green, safe, and natural. Remember to take care of yourself as you take care of your growing baby.
Erbaorganics, created in 2006, was born out of a desire to make available the
purest eco-friendly organic skincare to those who need it most: mommys-to-be
and babies. Concerned over the chemicals used in traditional skincare, husband
and wife Robin Brown and Anna Cirronis started making organic products when
they had their first son. They soon realized that others were just as concerned
about the harmful chemicals in mother and baby products. Free from any
harmful ingredients, Erbaorganics natural and organic skincare is an effective,
high quality alterative. Erbaorganics is proud to launch a full line of mother and
baby products as high in organic ingredients as is possible to make, with food
grade preservatives and organic anti-oxidants. Over the years they have sought
out the finest organic ingredients and combined them into unique blends that
nourish the body and the soul. This new line is designed to be made available to
as many people as possible, as we believe it is everyone’s right to be able to use
clean, safe, organic skincare particularly for mother and baby.
Erbaorganics, makers of exceptionally clean USDA certified organic skincare for
babies and pregnancy have earned the seal of approval from renowned
pediatrician Dr. Jay Gordon.
Erbaorganics donates a full 15% of our gross sales from Baby Body Oil and Baby Body Wash to the WWO. The WWO works with local communities in underdeveloped areas around the world to enrich the lives of orphans through diverse programs focusing on health, society and education. Founded in 1997 by pediatrician and pioneer Dr. Jane Aronson, the WWO receives widespread support from around the world, including such celebrities as Angelina Jolie, Mary-Louise Parker, and Naomi Watts. Erbaorganics sent me their Baby Body Wash to review. what can I say, I love it! It has a very mild yet relaxing aroma of lavender and chamomile. It is 78% organic. It is not so creamy that you don’t feel like you are just spreading lotion around, you feel clean but not squeaky clean. More like perfectly clean! I started off my quest off seeking sulfate free shampoos and body washes with baby items cause some of them were the first to have sulfate free. So now I just love a great baby product, Erbaorganics is one. They have a huge array of products!
Erbaorganics is also offering a special for Mother’s day! 10% off From April 24 through May 10 just enter code “mommy”
So would you like to win a bottle of Baby Body Wash for your little one? Head on over to Erbaorganics and tell me something you would love to try for yourself or for your little person at home. Or niece or nephew etc. =) You may do this one, but you must do this to enter!
