Leakey Life Review and Giveaway
The next Earth Week item I have for you is extremely unique and quite beautiful!
It is a special line of jewelry that’s made by Maasai women in Kenya and is a perfect for women constantly on the go. Its called the Leakey Collection and it was founded in 2002 by Katy and Philip Leakey. Their work includes the design and manufacture of contemporary jewelry that is hand made by the Maasai women and men of Kenya from environmentally sustainable materials. The flagship item of the collection- Zulugrass- is sold in individually or in multistrand, which allows you to get precisely the color, depth and weight of the jewelry that you want. It has an earthy, organic look and feel, yet is completely modern.
Zulugrass is great for every women because its light weight, durable and most most importantly versatile. A woman no longer has pack a bunch of bracelets, necklaces, hair ties etc. because Zulugrass allows a woman to get several looks from a few lightweight strands. Further, depending on the color and amount of strands used- the look can be as subdued or as colorful a she wants- just a couple twists or some added strands an you have literally dozens of looks.
Isn’t it simply stunning? I have 3 single strands in a blue, a red and an off red (think crayola’s brick red) and I just love them! they are stretchy, so you can stretch them and use them as a necklace, anklets, bracelets or whatever you choose! They really are pretty and will dress up an outfit really fast! and since they are lightweight, they make for easy wear and are extremely durable too.

First off, I love the Leakey Collection of ZuluGrass Jewelry. I love the company too for all they to in supporting women, African communities and Breast Cancer Research.
Now the hard part – choosing one favorite. Well, I pretty much love ALL of the ZulaGrass Multi-Strand Necklaces – (the colors and design are dazzling!) – I finally drew my favorite from a hat(!) and Desert Rose MN011 Multi-Strand.
*The hat also contained another Final Four: Pastel Pink MN386, GrassHopper MN189, Tequila Sunrise MN125A, and Fiesta MN045.
This jewelry is not only truly stunning but also a genuinely committed company to good works.
