Lashfood, I AM seeing results! Review and Giveaway

Lashfood looks like regular liquid eyeliner, but it contains some ingredients that you might expect to find in a nutritional supplement, including the vitamin biotin, the amino acid arginine, extract of irises and a blend of 15 herbs. Biotin and arginine are widely marketed as vital nutrients for hair growth. The result: your lashes become thicker, darker, and longer with this revolutionary conditioner. You can also use on eyebrows for thicker or fuller. I don’t need help there!
For the most part my eyelashes are dark, but there is a couple spots that aren’t quite as dark. I also have one eyelash on my left eye that hangs down. These are the first changes i noticed. The pale lashes seem to be getting darker and the annoying eyelash does not hang any longer. Hard to tell this close in whether or not my eyelashes are getting longer, I have been using it a little less then two weeks.
The application is very easy. It looks just like liquid eyeliner and you treat it as such. Slide along the lower rim of the eye lashes just like you are putting on liquid eyeliner! Get it on the roots, you can apply once a day but for best and faster results twice a day. This retails for $129 but it will last for 5 months using 2x’s a day. And it truly is all natural! not like that scary Latisse you can get from your doctor. (if your doc will prescribe it!)
So would you like to win your very own tube of Lashfood to set about your own experiment!?

Honest Tea’s Honest Kid Drink Pouches, Review and Giveaway!

Do you feel like when you give your kids pure juice you are just loading them with sugar and just a step away from a sugar laden Kool-aide type drink?
Well Honest Kid has the answer!
~ Honest Kids are USDA-certified organic thirst quenchers that come in three delicious flavors: Berry Berry Lemonade, Goodness Grapeness and Tropical Tango Punch (apple coming soon!)
~ Honest Kids contains half the sugar (organic cane sugar, that is) of most kids’ drinks and NO high fructose corn syrup
~ Honest Kids are only 40 calories per serving and provide 100 percent of the daily recommended value of Vitamin C
~ Honest Kids are available nationwide at: Whole Foods Markets, Target, Babies “R†Us, Costco and Sam’s Club
~ Honest Kids come in 6.75 fl oz lunchbox-friendly drink pouches that are sold in boxes of 8 pouches ($4.99) and an exclusive 24-pouch variety pack at Sam’s Club ($8.56)
I tried all three flavors and man o man, they are tasty! They don’t leave you feeling like you need to drink water after wards to really quench your thirst either, they do the job! I thought the Goodness Grapeness would be my favorite but to be honest (pun intended) I can’t pick a favorite! They aren’t quite as strong and potent as most juice drink pouches, they don’t have nearly as much sugar and frankly, they just taste better!
~ Honest Kid is working toward a healthier environment by partnering with TerraCycle and Capri Sun to combat drink pouch waste and encourage environmental awareness in kids. Each year, more than 4 billion drink pouches end up in landfills, the Honest Kids Drink Pouch Brigde is a program that collects, “upcycles” and transforms used/empty drink pouches into inexpensive, fashionable schools supplies that are sold at select Target, Walgreens and Office Max stores across the country. For each Honest Kids drink pouch that is collected, Honest Kids donates .02 to the school, organization or family’s charity of choice. Since 2007, over 11,000 collection sites have been established across the country, more than 500,000 drink pouches (HK and Capri Sun) have been saved from landfills and over $25,000 (from HK and Capri Sun) have been donated to a variety of charities. For more information about the Honest Kids Drink Pouch Brigade, visit: www.terracycle.net/dpb
~ The Honest Kids Variety Pack for Sam’s is a great value and it’s eco-friendly
design (reduced 3 boxes with shrink wrap to 1, eliminated plastic shrink wrap, box made of 35% post consumer waste, handle made of 45% post consumer waste, messaging that encourages environmental awareness to kids, etc) is unique and functional, especially for a club store offering.
I just love that not only have they stepped up to bring your kids a great drink alternative but they are also helping to make kids aware of the environment and how trash affects it.
Honest Tea has offered to have one reader win a full 24 pouch variety pack of Organic Honest Kids drink pouches!

Thrifty Thursday Make Your Own Deodorant! Simple and Effective
March 19, 2009 by Karissa
Filed under Recipes: Home, Skin, Food
This is a really easy recipe, and normally I always try them out before I post them, But I am still using and loving my Pit Putty by Bubble and Bee.
This recipe is very and simple and effective!
1. Hang on to you last deodorant container!
2. Clean the container, and roll it back down.
3. Buy some Virgin unrefined coconut oil and baking soda. If you can’t find the coconut oil locally, buy 92 degree oil, which is solid at room temperature. Coconut oil contains powerful antimicrobials that fight odor-causing bacteria without impairing sweat functions. Do not use anything with additives, you want pure, unrefined, virgin coconut oil!
4. Warm approx 1/2 cup of the oil in a double boiler, or use my pot with hot water and a glass bowl on top frugal way. lol
5. Thoroughly mix in 1/3 cup of baking soda. It should dissolve completely. Some people say that they use less, some more. If you use too much, it can be too strong, causing redness, so start with a little bit. Baking soda is generally mild, acts to absorb odor, and when suspended in oil, it’s usefulness lasts all day long. Mix slowly as it cools. You can put ice under the bowl to accelerate cooling.
6. Pour the mixture in the empty roll-up, put the cap on and refrigerate in an upright position. You may not want to leave this in the bathroom if yours gets really warm, or if you house gets warm in the summer, you may want to keep it in the fridge, it will melt if it gets too hot.
ta da!
Enjoy, if I make this anytime soon i will update you!

Ecover Review and Giveaway
My friend told me about Ecover a few months ago. I admit I have never heard of them before, but she told me that she had heard really wonderful things about their Laundry detergent and that it was especially good for cloth diapers. All natural and Eco-conscious products, I have to check this out!
Then once I got to Ecover’s website and started nosing around I knew I had a great company!
Ecover is an international company active in the production of ecological cleaners. Founded in 1980 in Belgium,we have been a trendsetter from the very start: as a pioneering company, marketing a phosphate-free washing powder even before phosphates were branded as a problem.
One of the most striking results is the world’s first ecological factory. Built in October 1992, it has a grass (sedum) roof extending over more than 10,8002 feet. It received extensive press attention at the time, and draws more than a thousand visitors every year even now. (seriously how insanely cool is that!!)
Ecover has received awards and recognition on many occasions for its special contributions and achievements in the field of environmentally friendly, sustainable development. Among various recognition, perhaps the most prestigious was being named to the Global 500 Roll of Honour of the United Nations Environment Program, in 1993.
You go Ecover! They have virtually every cleaning product you need, from toilet cleaner and hand wash to Boat and car cleaners! Not to mention several other items car and boat wax, limescale remover and non-chlorine bleach liquid.
They sent me 3 products to review and I loved them all! I first tried their bathroom cleaner, and the scent is so light and clean, plus this stuff really does a great job! we have a big garden tub, it is white and can be pretty hard to clean up with out scrubbing. I sprayed it with a few squirts of the cleaner and wiped it clean away with my Skoy cloth. it was so shiny and pretty. Not to mention I didn’t have to let the bathroom air out for an hour before I was able to get in there and take a bath! Most bathroom cleaners have such horrible fumes.
Then I tried their Grapefruit and Green Tea Dishwashing Liquid. It really cuts through grease and has a lovely scent. It is a nice big bottle too.
And lastly I have their handwash on my kitchen sink. The Hand Soap they sent me is Lavender and Aloe. It works great at washing away dirt from my hands and yet leaves them nice and soft.
Personal Benefits:
* naturally refreshing – with gentle lavender scent.
* suitable for sensitive skin.
* contains aloe vera and is PH neutral.
* not based on petrochemical ingredients
It is also fully biodegradeable as well as the package is fully recyclable. Gotta love that!
Ecover has be kind enough to offer one reader the same products I have reviewed! You will get a Bathroom Cleaner, Handwash with Lavender and Aloe as well as the Grapefruit and Green Tea Dishwashing Liquid!
So what I need you to do is go check out Ecover’s Website and tell me one other product (besides a those mentioned) that you would like to check out. This is mandatory for entry!

oh phhhlease Clarins!

before you think I am promoting this, read my schpeil underneath!
“Now that you’ll never look at your overhead lights the same, Clarins believes that electromagnetic waves, such as those emitted by your cell phone, should be feared for beauty reasons as well. A few years ago, the French beauty powerhouse launched Expertise 3P Screen Mist, which is said to act like a “protective veil” to help preserve your skin’s radiance. With ingredients like botanicals and white tea that boast antioxidant capabilities to protect the skin from other types of environmental aggressors as well, you can keep on chatting without worrying about fine lines and wrinkles. $42, clarinsusa.com”
OH seriously. these cosmetics companies really need to get back to making beauty products and stop with the BS. Now I don’t think holding onto a cell phone all day is great for you, but A Screen Mist? what_EVER!
that is as dumb as the Garnier Nutrise (i think that is right) pen for your eyes, that helps decrease puffiness. Ever heard of a cold spoon
i hope you guys don’t fall prey to this sensationalizing. I beg for you to understand beauty is on the ingredient label. I promise.
Kg’s Garden!

Do you want to see what I am planting in my garden this year? I just had a ball ordering seeds and well plants from Amazon! I was going to grow everything from seed but when a seed packet costs the same amount as the plant and I only need one plant, well it makes more sense to go ahead and buy the plant!
I got everything organic and some new varity to add in these year, First time trying carrots and Romaine lettuce (first time for lettuce at all!)
Last year was my first garden EVER!!! We never had one growing up, and I always thought I was a brown thumb but I guess getting older and more mature has helped me figure out that plants need water and not everyday! HA!
Lettuce Romaine Parris Island Cos Certified Organic Heirloom Seeds 275 Seeds
Cilantro Certified Organic Heirloom Seeds 200 Seeds
Basil Large Leaf Italian Heirloom 650 Seeds
Organic Carrot Seeds Carnival Blend 1000 Seeds
Cucumber Container Seeds Burpless Bush Slicer 18 Seeds
Heirloom Tomato Summer Feast Seeds 75 Seeds
2-Organic Chadwick Cherry Tomato Plant
1-Organic Yellow Perfection Tomato Plant
4-Organic Rainbow Bell Pepper
I am going to build a square foot garden with help from the mister this year. have you heard of Square Foot Gardening? Really cool. http://www.amazon.com/dp/1591862027?tag=priss-20&camp=14573&creative=327641&linkCode=as1&creativeASIN=1591862027&adid=1J6F9J204RPEHG98M2M4& Here is the link to the book. I will try and keep you updated with the garden process.
I have 16 spots, so some of those seeds will be doubled up. I am going to use an empty egg carton to start my seedlings and then transplant when ready.
I would love to start a compost but with the dogs and way our house is set up I just don’t think it would work unless I bought one of those big tubs that I can wind around to turn.
Okay so here is everything I am planting to take up my 16 spots.
2 romaine
1 Cilantro
1 Basil
1 square for carrots
2 cucumber
2 Heirloom tomatoes
1 yellow tomato
2 Cherry tomatoes
4 Pepper plants
I would eventually love to do Squash and Zucchini but I am really the only one that eats those and since they are so late in the summer I will wait, Next year maybe I will build two Square gardens!
If anyone has any helpful tips or information they want to share please feel free! I only have 1 year under my belt so I always appreciate it.
