So What Are Your Valentine Plans?

The Mister and I are going to our hands down favorite restaurant. It is a family owned Turkish joint in Indianapolis that has only Turkish food, and Turkish wine. (The Bosphorus) When they first opened about 5 years ago they did not have a liquor license but they would allow you to bring a bottle of your own wine with you. It is a sweet romantic spot.
I went with a friend for a Valentine’s day a few years back. It was hysterical. They had a man going around with some instrument resembling an accordion and singing SAD love songs. I mean SAD, as in pathetic, lonesome, nearly gruesome love songs. But since I was there with a friend it was perfect for us.
He would tell us the story line, then sing it and play. It was so creative and I thought quite beautiful, even if the story line practically had me peeing my pants. The story line would go something like this, ‘Karissa and Mister were in love, but she was just a measly peasant girl and Mister was a filthy rich prince, and so Karissa was banished to the dessert to DIE a slow lonely death!” Sad yes but you had to have seen the passion and love this man had. It was glorious. I asked the next time i went in if he would be back over the summer but they said there had been complaints!!! I was so sad, I thought he was terrific, and of course I let the owners know this!
Ok so my own only word of green advice is if you go out for a lovely dinner as we are, do 1 of two things. Take your own take home a sak. OR, ask them to wrap your food in foil. Foil can be easily recycled but Styrofoam can not be so easily. Think about it. It is your Valentine’s Day present to Earth and to your future Great great grandkids.
