Dry itchy skin? yep, it is cold outside.

This is a simple yet VERY effective way to help. Start with a simple body exfoliation in the shower. You can always skip this step if you are in a hurry, you can use a loofah, brown sugar, sugar, a scrub you already have, whatever you like, heck you can go back to my microdermabrasion post and use baking powder! Use some oil mixed with your sugar or brown sugar. Don’t just use Kosher salt or sea salt unless it is finely granulated, otherwise it will tear (microscopically) your skin can probably cause a lot more damage then good.

I have a trusty bath mitt that I got on clearance at CVS that I just love. I also have a fave body scrub, but I will save that review for another (snowy) day.

Ok, so then when you get out, and you are still a little damp, apply a layer of body oil. make sure it is a good body oil. Burts Bee has a good one. There are a quite a few good ones out there, just make sure it doesn’t contain mineral oil. When you are done, top it off with your favorite healthy natural body lotion. It will help seal in the oil and keep that moisture locked in. It works better then adding the oil to the lotion and works better then the oil alone. A great topping lotion I can suggest is 100% Pure’s Blood Orange Body Cream. They have a fantastic line of products.

Hope this helps you get over any itchy dry weather drought skin! I love to do this at night, you skin absorbs better at night, so this really is a better time to do it.

Ciao!
